What are policies and how do they work?
Policies allow you to have the same basis for each device in your network so to say. If you require, for example firefox on each device in you network, creating a policy for installing firefox on each new device in your network will ensure that.
Create a policy in XEOX
To create a policy in XEOX, go to Automations - Policies.

As always, you have to give the policy a name. Our suggestion is to name it distinctively as to avoid confusion later on. Additionally there is also the option do provide a description on what the policy does.

Next set the execution frequency. Here you can determine how often the policy should run on a device. You can also set postconditions, which are explained in a little more detail down below.

To execute a policy, you have to select a template to execute upon running the policy. On how to create a template, read Software Library

Here you can, as always filter which devices are assigned the policy or excluded from the policy. For more information read Tags / Excluded Hardware

Conditions allow the policy to run only if it’s true. Otherwise the policy will not run. Selecting execution frequency to postcondition, for example runs the automation until the postcondition, and if it is false, the automation gets cancelled.

You can set a condition if a certain registry key or file exists, either one of them or both, depending on what you need. You can add as many conditions or blocks as you need.
